Discipline Procedure for Red Cards

In the interest of de-mystifying the Discipline proceedings when someone is red carded, this News Article has been created.

When a player is red carded, they are automatically suspended for the next game and fined $50. The fine is to be paid by sending an e-transfer to info@miltonsoccer.com. In the heading, the player puts their Name and Team. The password for the e-transfer is to be FINES.

A player will remain suspended until the fine is payed. Their name cannot show up on the game sheet until the fine has been paid.

There are two ways in which suspensions are handled. For offences that carry a straight number of games (no range of penalties), a Discipline by Review is held where a Discipline Chair reviews the referee report and levies the appropriate action. If the offense committed carries a range of penalties, then a Discipline by Hearing is held, where the accused must appear before the Discipline Committee and explain their side of the story. (The accused remains suspended until after the hearing.) The accused can be found guilty or not guilty. The decision of the Discipline Committee will be communicated after the Hearing has concluded and the panel has rendered a decision based on the evidence brought forth. (Please note that the referee is not at the hearing and is not on trial.)

Any player who receives a Discipline by Review can request a Discipline by Hearing. An additional $75.00 fee must be paid prior to the hearing. If the defendant is found not guilty, this $75 fee is refunded.

Appeals of any Discipline Hearings can be made to the Peel Halton Soccer Associations. Another fee is required to do that.
